SUBJECT: WHO OR WHAT HAS STOPPED YOU FROM OBEYING THE TRUTH?
Galatians 5:7-10 ~ Darby Translation
7 Ye ran well; who has stopped you that ye should not obey the truth?
You were running well in Christ; who or what has stopped us from obeying the truth? To answer this question you’ve got to be 100% transparent with yourself. God already sees you and HE knows what’s going on. • Is it the job ~ Your relationships ~ Money issues• Problems with your health ~ Depression or Anxiety• Is it YOU = We can self-sabotage
8 The persuasibleness [is] not of him that calls you.
Our being persuaded or pulled of course didn’t come from God; and in order to get back on course and get to the root of our getting of course we need to identify the cause.
9 A little leaven leavens the whole lump.
Having our race hindered starts subtly by us saying I’ll only do it this one time and that one time becomes two times and then a pattern develops, and we’re pulled off course in Christ; because what started out as one time has now become normal and it is a part of us. Having our race hindered starts out with us saying I
can handle the pressure I can handle the changes I can handle what’s going on around me and the truth is we need therapy. We need someone that can help us get to the root of what’s bothering us so that we can get back on course and begin to run our race.
10 *I* have confidence as to you in [the] Lord, that ye will have no other mind; and he that is troubling you shall bear the guilt [of it], whosoever he may be.
This verse is Paul tells the churches in Galatia that he has confidence in their walk with the Lord; because they have no other mind but to please God. This morning God has confidence in your walk because your mind is in HIM; and whatever caused you to be pulled off of your race will receive God’s judgement; but make no mistake it’s your race and you will receive God’s judgement as well if you don’t course correct.
Closing: Who or What has caused you to stop obeying God? Only you know this. The great news is that we serve a forgiving God and we can get back in order with HIM and run our race.
