SUBJECT: RECOVERY OF A BROKEN HEART
With everything that has happened this year, COVID, sickness, jobs, death, we have all experienced one thing or another.
I just want to tell you that GOD has us. This world, our country, our state, our city has lost so many people. And with loss comes heart break. I’m here to tell you GODs got you.
PSALM 34:18 The Message Version
18 If your heart is broken, you’ll find God right there; if you’re kicked in the gut, he’ll help you catch your breath.
When I was younger I was running and playing tag and fell. It knocked the wind out of me, and I couldn’t catch my breath for a few minutes. A friend had to hit me on the back that’s when I finally took a deep breath.
Mathew 5:4 The Message Version
4 “You’re blessed when you feel you’ve lost what is most dear to you. Only then can you be embraced by the One most dear to you.
Before Deacon Monroe speaks he asks GOD to help him decrease so GOD can increase. This is so he could speak what GOD wants not what he wants. He’s saying GODs got this.
Proverbs 4:23 The Message Version
23 Keep vigilant watch over your heart; that’s where life starts
vigilant (adjective)
1. Keeping careful watch for possible danger or difficulties.
2. Someone who keeps awake and alert in order to avoid danger or problems.
The Heart is the central or innermost part of something.
What is the spiritual meaning of heart? The heart is the locus of physical and spiritual being, and represents the “central wisdom of feeling as opposed to the head-wisdom of reason” (Cooper, 82). It is compassion and understanding, life-giving and complex. It is a symbol for love.
