SERIES: I’M STEPPING INTO ALL THAT GOD HAS FOR ME!
SUBJECT: “THIS CAN NO LONGER HOLD ME.”
SCRIPTURE: John 5:5-9 Amplified Bible
5 There was a certain man there who had been ill for thirty-eight years. 6 When Jesus noticed him lying there [helpless], knowing that he had been in that condition a long time, He said to him, “Do you want to get well?” 7 The invalid answered, “Sir, I have no one to put me in the pool when the water is stirred up, and while I am coming [to get into it myself], someone else steps down ahead of me.” 8 Jesus said to him, “Get up; pick up your pallet and walk.” 9 Immediately the man was healed and recovered his strength, and [a]picked up his pallet and walked. Now that day was the Sabbath.
- 38 Years is a long time to be ill. What is the THIS in your life that continues to have a hold on you? and How long have you been stagnate because of it?
- THIS can make you feel helpless. Instead of him saying YES to the question Jesus asked; “Do you want to get well?” He started giving reasons why he had not made it in the pool yet. If we call a spade a spade, the were excuses. Just like us; there’s an excuse for the THIS in our lives and this is why we can’t break free.
- Jesus is saying to us GET up; pick up your pallet and walk. He’s saying “THIS CAN NO LONGER HOLD YOU.” He’s saying You’re free from the THIS in your life. Again, the question is Do you want to get well?
Today is our Sabbath today you can break free right where you are. In your bedroom, living room, the kitchen wherever you are in your home. THIS CAN NO LONGER HOLD YOU. This morning you can walk in freedom if you want it. Don’t all THIS to have a hold on you. Get up, pick up your pallet and Step Into All That God Has For You!
